Inside Hamada Male Spa – An Honest Review

Verdict: Hamada Spa is a beautifully designed space that’s waiting to be discovered. It has all the potential to be a top-tier male spa—but a few operational missteps are holding it back. Here’s my honest take.

With a friend’s recommendation, I decided to check out Hamada Massage and Wellness Spa for the first time. Located along Scout Ybardolaza in Quezon City, it’s surprisingly under-the-radar despite being near more well-known male spas like T by 27Shaw and Alpha Spa.

A quick search on X (formerly Twitter) didn’t yield much—its social media presence is minimal, which is surprising considering it’s been open for nearly a year. Still, what I saw on Google Maps intrigued me enough to give it a shot.

First Impression: Eye-Catching Architecture

From the outside, the spa stands out. It’s housed in a three-story building with colorful outlines and arched windows that honestly made it look like a modern chapel. The bold architectural style gave me high hopes.

Interior: Stylish and Spacious

Upon entering, I was impressed. The Romanesque theme carries through inside, with arched doorways and elegant curves everywhere—it felt premium.

Space is clearly not an issue at Hamada. The lockers were large enough to fit my backpack (a rare treat). The dry sauna could easily accommodate around 50 people, and the varsity-style showers—with their tiled curved partitions—gave off a clean, open feel that I personally liked. That said, I do wish they had a few curtained shower stalls available for those who prefer a bit more privacy.

Other features worth noting:

  • Steam room: Well-heated and roomy.
  • Pool and jacuzzi area: Beautifully designed, with two large pools and two smaller jacuzzi compartments (though unfortunately, the jacuzzis weren’t heated when I visited).
  • Massage rooms (2nd floor): Comfortable and clean.
  • Restaurant and bar (3rd floor) – An extended area where you can unwind and eat after your treatment.

The Problem: Ambiance and Operations

Here’s where things took a dip. While the physical space was impressive, the overall vibe missed the mark for me.

When I walked past the reception, a group of male attendants near the locker area were chatting loudly—not exactly the calming welcome one hopes for at a spa. Upstairs, some therapists were loitering and scrolling on their phones. The dry sauna used bright white lighting, which felt clinical and out of place; warm yellow lights would’ve created a more relaxing atmosphere.

Worse, the wet areas were brightly lit overall, which can turn off guests who prefer a bit of discretion or intimacy. This may partly explain why the place felt so empty—even on a Friday night.

Combined with their lack of digital marketing, Hamada Spa struggles to draw in a strong crowd. And in a male spa setting, crowd energy does matter—for both relaxation and social vibe.

The Massage: A Bright Spot

I booked a basic combination massage with Therapist Migz, and it was genuinely good. However, since it’s my first visit, I can’t speak for consistency across all therapists. Some Google reviews suggest it can be a hit or miss.

Something Unique: The Hamada Experience

One offering that caught my eye was the Hamada Experience—a 180-minute package where a butler accompanies you through the sauna, steam room, shower, massage, and jacuzzi. It’s an interesting premium service, and by the way—the butlers are incredibly attractive. Just saying.

Final Thoughts: Would I Return?

Not yet. While I see a lot of potential in Hamada Spa, I’ll wait for them to improve a few key things:

  • Elevate the ambiance (dim lighting, softer atmosphere).
  • Instill more discipline and professionalism among staff.
  • Invest in marketing and promotions to build buzz.

Right now, it feels more like a well-designed space with untapped potential than a must-visit spa destination. If they can fine-tune their operations and build a stronger community vibe, I’d happily revisit.
