Dr. Wine is a wine bar and bistro with two branches in Metro Manila. One is located in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City, while the other is in Poblacion, Makati. However, only the Poblacion branch has a rooftop area that offers a picturesque view of the Makati cityscape.
Renowned for its quality liquor selection, Dr. Wine boasts a wide array of options including wines, cocktails, gin, vodka, tequila, rum, whisky, cognac, calvados, liqueurs, and beers sourced from various countries. This impressive selection earns them the top spot on our list, despite their location atop a mere two-story building.
The food menu predominantly features French cuisine. Operating hours are from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 pm to 1:00 am, and Friday to Sunday, 5:00 pm to 2:00 am.
2. Sky Deck View Bar in Intramuros
Sky Deck View Bar sits atop the 10-story Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros, Manila, offering a stunning 360-degree view of the country’s capital. Its menu boasts a mix of local and international dishes, complemented by a wide selection of bar snacks. Guests can choose from an extensive wine list, local beers, and cocktails to enjoy alongside their meal.
The bar operates daily from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with two seating options: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM for the first seating, and 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM for the second seating. It’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists seeking a relaxing dining experience with a breathtaking view of the Manila sunset.
3. The Penthouse 8747
The Penthouse 8747 offers a luxurious ambiance with its black interiors adorned with gold accents. Located on the 20th level of the Lepanto building along Paseo de Roxas, the bar provides a stunning view of the Makati Central Business District, making it a popular destination for romantic dinners, social gatherings, and special events.
Customers can indulge in a wide range of drinks including cocktails, whisky, vodka, bourbon, tequila, gin, rum, liqueur, beer, coffee, tea, and smoothies. The food menu features an interesting fusion of local Filipino and international cuisines.
Operating daily except on Mondays, The Penthouse 8747 welcomes guests from 4 PM to 2 AM.
4. Firefly Roofdeck at City Garden Grand Hotel
Perched atop the 32nd floor of City Garden Grand Hotel along Makati Avenue, Firefly Roofdeck reigns as one of Makati’s tallest rooftop bars. The entrance is adorned by the hotel’s rooftop pool, enhancing the ambiance, although it can get a tad crowded with swimmers.
Offering a diverse range of drinks and a blend of Filipino and Western cuisine, Firefly Roofdeck caters to various tastes. They also carry Engkanto local craft beers on their menu.
Operating daily from 7 AM to 2 AM, it accommodates visitors throughout the day and night. Keep an eye out for special occasions when the roof deck on the 33rd level is opened for an even better view of the city.
Note that the City Garden Grand Hotel is not the same as the City Garden Hotel, even though they’re nearby. Also, the City Garden Hotel has its own rooftop bar called Encima Roofdeck.
5. Z Roofdeck at Z Hostel
If you’re up for some lively vibes, make your way to Z Roofdeck located atop Z Hostel in Poblacion, Makati. Z Hostel is a favorite among foreign backpackers, so expect to mingle with a diverse crowd, including expats. The small rooftop is split into two sections: one with cozy tables and chairs, and the other perfect for dancing to the tunes of a live DJ.
Swing by any day around 6 PM for the Sunset Session, where all in-house guests get to enjoy a free cocktail while taking in the breathtaking Makati skyline. Weekdays tend to be more laid-back, perfect for unwinding, while the weekends are when the real fun kicks off.
6. O2 Rooftop Bar
O2 Rooftop Bar is located atop D2 Residences, on the 27th floor in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Its location among BGC’s tall skyscrapers offers impressive rooftop views.
The bar serves a variety of wines, cocktails, and spirits, alongside a limited selection of starters, salads, and pasta dishes. Operating hours are from 5 PM to 1 AM every day.
7. VU’s Sky Bar and Lounge
If you’re in the Ortigas area, your top choice would be VU’s Sky Bar and Lounge. Situated on the 45th floor of the Marco Polo Hotel, it is divided into two areas: an indoor space with live music and an outdoor area featuring a DJ— both adorned with neon lights.
Conveniently located opposite the Metrowalk Complex, where numerous bars are found, it’s an ideal spot to end your evening. The rooftop bar operates from Wednesday to Saturday, opening from 5 PM to 1 AM on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and extending to 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
8. Sky High Bar
Sky High Bar, which is also in Ortigas, offers a slightly more casual atmosphere compared to VU’s. Located on the 21st floor of Ace Hotel and Suites, it boasts a 360-degree view of Ortigas and Mandaluyong.
Operating from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM Sunday through Thursday, the rooftop bar extends its hours until 2:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
9. Chill Top
While rooftop bars are often pricey, Chill Top offers a more budget-friendly option. Their drinks menu isn’t extensive, so sticking to beer or cocktail towers is recommended. As for food, they serve mainly Filipino meals, pulutan, and pizza.
In addition to the scenic view, Chill Top also offers karaoke rooms and live bands for entertainment. Currently, they have four branches located throughout Metro Manila: Cubao, Eastwood, Lacson Manila, and Gil Puyat. All branches are open 24/7.
10. Straight Up Bar at Seda
Straight Up Bar is the signature rooftop bar of Seda Hotels. It currently has three branches across Metro Manila: one on the 35th floor of Seda Residences Makati, another on the 24th floor of Seda Vertis North in Quezon City, and the third on the 15th floor of Seda BGC in Taguig City.
While not offering an extensive menu, customers can still expect a decent selection of food and drinks. Operating hours for Straight Up Bar are from 4 PM to 12 MN.
