Luminere Spa Review: Inside Maginhawa’s All-Male Spa and Sauna

Are you on the lookout for a new spa experience in Quezon City? Look no further than Luminere Spa, the recently opened all-male spa and sauna located in the heart of Maginhawa’s popular food street. With many high-quality spas concentrated in the Morato and Cubao areas, Luminere Spa’s presence in Maginhawa is a breath of fresh air for spa enthusiasts from Ateneo, UP, and surrounding villages.

In this review article, we’ll take an in-depth look at the amenities and services provided by Luminere Spa, including their massage packages, pricing, and hours of operation.

Location and First Impression

Luminere Spa is located on the third floor of 143 Maginhawa Street, Quezon City— the same building that houses Chapter Coffee Roastery and Happon Ramen House. Commuting to the place is fairly easy because you can go to Philcoa and ride a tricycle from there.

I have always visited spas in the evening so I am not sure how it looks in the daytime, but at night, the place sure exudes elegance and intimacy. It is dimly lit with just the right hue to allow privacy and make the customers feel cozy.

I’ve pretty much already tried almost every all-male spa and sauna in Metro Manila and I’d dare say Luminere Spa has the most alluring ambiance out of all its contemporaries.

Right outside the entrance to the spa is a series of tables lined up on the terrace where customers and therapists alike can lounge and smoke. The reception is located right when you enter the spa where you will have to choose and pay for your chosen massage package before they give you the magnetic key to your locker. Beside the reception is the door leading to the corridor connecting the locker room, the lounge, the movie room, and the massage area.

Massage Menu and Prices

Luminere Spa only offers three types of full-body massage: Regular massage, Royal massage, and Medusa massage. All of which already includes access to the wet area, dry sauna, and steam room.

Regular massage is the typical combination of Shiatsu and/or Swedish massage found in other spas. The Royal massage is a more sensual version of the Regular massage— pretty much similar to the Titan massage of Elite Wellness Spa. Lastly, the Medusa massage is the twin version of the Royal massage— that is, there will be two masseurs doing the massage synchronously.

The Regular and the Royal massage can be coupled with any of the following add-ons:

  • Whitening body scrub – ₱900.00
  • Hot stone – ₱300.00
  • Ventosa – ₱300.00

Aside from the full-body massage packages, Luminere Spa also offers the following services which are performed inside the movie room.

  • Royal foot massage – ₱995.00
  • Platinum drip (glutathione, placenta, collagen, and vitamins C, E, D, and B3) – ₱1250.00

Overall Experience

Luminere Spa’s facilities and interiors are top-tier, at least, relative to other spas in Metro Manila. This is probably also because they are one of the newest spas to enter the game.

The locker room, shower rooms, steam room, dry sauna, and massage rooms are all clean, spacious, well-maintained, and lit with just the right amount of accent lighting. Among all the spas I have been to, they have the fanciest massage beds as well.

In addition to that, I noticed that they have a very good-looking crowd! So if you are into meeting eye candies, you will probably enjoy this place.

Overall, Luminere Spa delivered an exemplary pampering experience. I’d personally rate the massage quality on par with Elite Wellness and NY Spa. And although they are a bit pricier than most of their competitors by about 200 pesos, I think the quality of the facilities makes up for this price difference.

The operating hours of Luminere Spa are from 1 PM to 1 AM daily. If you want to book a reservation, you may contact them at 0996 819 8888 or on Facebook.
