An honest review by someone who’s been to (almost) all of them.
Over the past five years, I’ve made it a mission to try nearly every male spa in Metro Manila with saunas and wet area facilities. From Quezon City to Pasay, I’ve visited at least 17 different spas — some multiple times, others just once. After all that spa-hopping, I can confidently say that T by 27 Shaw stands out as the best overall — from its facilities and massage quality to the entire guest experience.
Location & Accessibility
T by 27 Shaw is located along Timog Avenue in Quezon City. It’s just a short walk from both the GMA-Kamuning MRT station and EDSA Carousel bus stop, making it easily accessible whether you’re driving or commuting.
One thing I love: it’s situated right beside Starbucks Timog and Hisbeans Café. This means you can chill or get some work done before or after your spa visit — a small convenience that honestly makes a big difference for me.
Facilities and Ambience
The spa occupies a spacious two-storey building with a minimalist industrial design, softened by warm wood tones. The façade is upscale yet discreet — if you didn’t know it was a spa, you probably wouldn’t guess.
Ground Floor
Inside, you’re welcomed at the front desk, typically staffed by four attendants. Check-in is smooth and efficient. You’re handed a rubber bracelet embedded with a magnetic chip that serves as your locker key. A locker attendant then provides you with a robe, two towels, and a pair of slippers before guiding you to the spacious locker area.

Just across from the lockers is the wash area, equipped with large mirrors, two sinks, hair dryers, and a water fountain. Everything feels intentional — nothing cramped, no dark corners.

Beyond a glass door, the wet area opens up — and this is where T by 27 Shaw starts to stand out. The dry sauna and steam room are generously sized, well-maintained, and properly heated. The steam room, in particular, lives up to its name — visibility drops to zero once you step inside. The jet pools — one heated, one cold — are clean, relaxing, and spacious enough even when a few guests are soaking.
For showers, you have two options: a dim, maze-style area if you’re up for a bit of exploration, or curtained stalls for those who prefer privacy. Comfort rooms are also tucked conveniently into the layout
The lighting throughout the wet area is dim enough to offer discretion, but never dingy — just that ideal middle ground where you feel relaxed, not exposed, and still aware of your surroundings.
Now, let’s go to the upper floor!

Second Floor
Upstairs, things open up even more. The second-floor lounge is massive with ambient lighting that make it feel like a proper space to unwind. Guests are served complimentary cookies and tea (hot or iced), and if you’re hungry, you can order simple food like ramen or coffee from a small in-house menu. A glass partition separates the indoor lounge from an outdoor smoking area, so even guests who want to step out for air or a break don’t have to fully leave the experience.

Just across the lounge are the massage rooms. I didn’t count exactly, but with over 40 therapists on staff, it’s clear that they’re built to accommodate a high number of guests without sacrificing comfort or pacing. The layout ensures you never feel rushed or crammed into a space — everything flows, and it works.
Massage Quality & Service
I’ve tried several massage services here across multiple visits, and the quality has been consistent. While New York Spa still holds the top spot for me in terms of pure massage technique, T by 27 Shaw is a close second.
Their services are about 20% more expensive than the average male spa (as you can see in the menu below), but I believe the premium is justified by the facilities, ambiance, and professionalism.

The Crowd
The clientele at T by 27 Shaw tends to be diverse — mostly guys in their 20s to early 40s. Of course, this varies depending on the time and day, so I won’t generalize too much here. But if you’re wondering about the vibe: yes, it’s chill and respectful, and yes, people tend to be easy on the eyes.
Final Thoughts
T by 27 Shaw is setting the gold standard among gay spas in Metro Manila. It offers a refined, elevated experience while keeping the atmosphere friendly and casual. My hope is that they continue to maintain their facilities, uphold massage quality, and invest in continuous training for their therapists — because they’ve truly built something special here.
